Pictures of the Week!!!!! and what's coming soon!

Super Van for the win!!

and for now readers what is up and coming on GDCT,

Perhaps Aria will get her computer charger soon and give you the treat of a post about Firefly/Serenity.

For later this week though you can expect me to defend my newest obsession, Dungeons and Dragons , against Aria and her dislike of the game ( I even ordered shiny new dice, and you wouldn't believe how excited I am for them!)

Also a possible post on Dollhouse, though most likely I'll wait till the season's end.

Peace Out!

What to do if your bored..... SPECIAL Learn How To Sound Like Chewie

Hey all Debra again,
since I can't sleep I'm just gonna post some fun/funny links and y'all should check them out

Star Wars Gangsta Rap- It amused me and made me laugh, but it was kinda crude....

Ninja Kitty Part 2
- it's super cute! if you remember ninja kitty one you know it's worth it, and if you haven't seen Ninja Kitty you should find a hole and kill yourself

10 Geek Laws That Should Exist

How To Sound like Chewbacca- I tried this for like 5 minutes.... it was epic fail and I'm glad neither Kim nor Aria were around me at the time to mock my horrible wookie noises that sounded more like I was chocking on my own dignity

That's all for now but my boredom will turn it's ugly head again soon
but for now I'm off the watch The Princess Bride
Peace!

p.s I promise Aria isn't dead, just preoccupied with a
cephalopod

ATTENTION ALL STARWARS FANS

Star Wars in Concert is happening!! and it's gonna be in Nashville on December 13! What is Star Wars in Concert you may ask well let me tell you

Star Wars: In Concert, a unique multi-media event featuring music and scenes from all six of John Williams' epic Star Wars scores!

It's narrated live by Anthony Daniels (the actor who portrayed C-3PO in all six films), the production features a full symphony orchestra and choir, accompanied by specially edited footage from the films displayed on a three-story-tall, high-definition LED super-screen -- one of the largest ever put on tour. The live music and film elements are synchronized in order to create a full multi-media, one-of-kind Star Wars experience.

And if that isn't enough to get your tail into gear and your lightsaber going, then check this bit out!

Accompanying the concert is an exclusive exhibit of Star Wars costumes, props, artifacts, production artwork and specially created behind-the-scenes videos from the Lucasfilm Archives. Many of these pieces are leaving Skywalker Ranch for the first time. The exhibit features many classic fan favorite artifacts, as well as several new and never-before-seen items, including:

  • Full costumes for Jedi Masters Kit Fisto and Plo Koon will be on display.

  • For the first time ever, pages from John Williams' original hand-written sheet music for Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace will be exhibited for the public.

  • Also on display will be various never-before-seen props from the films, including blasters and helmets from Coruscant, Tatooine and other iconic Star Wars locations.
Hullo! who just had a geekgasm? Well one thing is for sure, I will be there hell or high water!

Fortunately not dressed like this guy ( I like the use of my arms thank you very much)
Seats start at 32.50 and go all the way to 300 (for a super special vip seat and some swag I bet)

So padawans, jedi, and sith I'll see you there

Halloween Post, only obnoxiously late

Ok well, Halloween wasn't all to exciting for us, just a little bit of magic, a little bit of haunted house fail, and a lot of random happenstance

but dear reader what I want to talk about is the Day of the Dead, no not November 1.... but the A.C.T Day of the Dead party.
Don't know what that is? well I didn't either till a few weeks ago
So it's a party (duh) where you dress up as someone or something dead
sounds easy right? there are lots of dead people and things so...? Nope, no go... gotta be witty/cool/ not dull/whatever....
So Kim and I took about a week to think about it, we tossed out idea's from disney villans to Star Wars characters to Bambi's Mom (which as some of you know Kim's father went with it and made a truly adorable AND traumatizing head piece for).
Finally one night just as I was about to cross the border between dreams and conciousness, it came to me! my costume! I was gonna be..... a Red Shirt!
with that settled I printed out a starfleet insignia and picked up a red turtleneck, then viola! Ensign Debra reporting for duty!
but enough about that I want to talk about the costumes I saw there! because really no one does costumes and creative like theatre people

so I'm just gonna list what I remeber and Aria or Kim can come in and add/ correct

Kim was Bambi's mom as I said
Aria was dinosaur
Debra was a redshirt (but not the only one! I had a brother in arms)

hmm, what else was there
a Peter Pan with fantastic makeup
a sorority gal ( I don't know which sorority... sorry)
a "dead" kennedy (not the band but a pun on ted, I think)
a Billy Mayes complete with oxyclean shirt
a Marylin Monroe
a V
a Johnny Cash
a G-d with one heck of a beard (who everyone kept asking "are you Dumbledore?)
Kanye West's career
a Severus Snape
a flapper
a dead mother earth (and recardo the raven)
a Dr. George O'Mally complete with prescriptions
a punk Betty Page
a Natasha Richards in full ski gear
a Heath Ledger (straight from Brokeback Mountain, shirt and all)
a Robin (Jason Todd, I think... but it could have been metaphorical for Dick or Tim I suppose)
a Blues Brother John Belushi

There were a few I didn't get but we're still fun costumes
a ninja (I don't understand the dead part of this one... maybe the art of ninja? death of stealth? take off the mask and it can be death of anonymity? Did the ninja lose to a pirate? dunno... guess he just wanted to be a ninja, which is understandable because well ninjas rock)
a Yankee ( though with their recent win I don't understand)
a Pillsbury Dough boy
a Quail man (who remembers Doug! Kim and I for sure do!)

I'm gonna get some pictures up later to make this post better, but for now readers
Peace Out!

To all my Knoxvillans, beware big green mothers from outerspace!

I know dear reader it had been a long time since anything other than pictures of the week have gone up, but I promise by the end of tomorrow Aria and I will have something up about Halloween, nerdy things, and guess what! more Halloween (because I do love it so!)
But this here is to mention a wonderful show to any and all theatre loving Knoxvillans!

Little Shop of Horrors put on by the University in the Carousel was fantastic!

Aria and I saw it on preview night so there were probably some final kinks being fixed but it still was a gem of a show. The actors all did a wonderful job. The tech crew all did a wonderful job (and made one hell of a super set). Heck I even loved the staging of it all.
So go see it, it's worth the money ($5-10 I think) (you can check times, dates, and tickets here)
Congrats to everyone who worked on the show and/or are in it!

ta darlings,
Debra

P.S and remember- Please don't feed the plant!
or date dentists >.>
